Thanksgiving

Auntie Sara

Me with my girls
Grandma
Happy Thanksgiving!!  We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving with my mom and sister.  I was so blessed because there was little work involved for me regarding the meal.  My mom and sister were willing to prepare everything and bring it to us in Aberdeen!!   Spoiled huh?  I sure did feel it.  Thanks mom and Sara for doing that.

I have been busy working on a few more crafts.  I made up a cute little owlie special ordered for a Christmas gift.  Every time I work on a project I like to try something different.  I want my items to be one of a kind.  I think it's nice to have something that is just a little bit different than the other.  My mom made up some super cute pillows and buntings out of vintage sheets and brought me her scraps!!  I immediately thought about making up this special order owlie with some of the scrape fabric.  I think she turned out pretty cute don't you?  I also have been working on these sweet little snowmen.  I have 4 more cut out and ready to stitch up.  I'm thinking they would be another fun give away on my FB page in the month of December.  I also need to get busy making up handmade gifts too.  I was planning on having another Christmas sale but decided against it.  As soon as the Christmas holiday is over I will get busy making up other crafts to get ready for a Spring sale.  I have pieces of furniture and other odds and ends I'm thinking about selling.  I think it would be a great way to make a little extra cash AND clean out my storage unit!!  Well.... enjoy your weekend!!

Christmas crafts & misc crafts

I've been trying to get ahead start on my Christmas crafts and decorating since it seems near impossible to get anything done without some sort of interruption.  Someone needs a drink, someone needs to go potty, someone pooped their pants, someone is crying, or they both are fighting.  I guess that is the joys of motherhood huh?  If I spend the day crafting then the whole house is a wreck and the girls are babysittinIg themselves with endless episodes of SuperWhy.  Thank goodness we have Netflix!  I've enjoyed making the sweet felt stockings for each of us.  I plan to make a few extra to sell.  The felt owlies were a huge hit this fall at my open house sale.  I also did a free give away on my Facebook page.  I was pleasantly surprised at how many people wanted to win one!  Almost 20 peeps!

The weather has turned cold fast.  This past weekend was in the negative temps with the wind chill.  Brrrrrr!!!!!  I am not a lover of snow.  I have lived most of my life in the Dakotas and should be at peace with it but I never do like the first snowfall.  Seems like once we get it, it never goes away.

I have started going back to the Y on a regular basis now that my husband is done with a play he was in at the community theater.  The play was a lot of fun and he did a good job but boy am I glad it is over!!  Back to having a little extra help with the little people.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.  I'm off to the Y to get my 4 miles in on the elliptical.  Have a happy Tuesday!!

back to blogging

I'm back!  Oh how swiftly the time has past since my last post.  I would like to be more faithful this time.  My goal is to get more followers but how to go about that seems to be at a loss.  My girls have grown so much and seem to get more and more adorable as the days pass.  I treasure each day I get to spend with them while they are so young and still need their mommy.  I must admit the days get long and trying.  They are both so busy and learning how to communicate their feelings.  The days are  endless with picking up toys, changing diapers, making meals, baths, wiping tears and soaking in all the giggles and tears we share together each day. I know these days seem to never end but yet one day I will wake up and they will be all grown up.
I have been very busy with my crafting.  It seems to be the calm in the midst of my storms.  I will post new pictures soon.  I'm off to get my favorite cuppa, peppermint mocha and hit up a few thirft shops.  Happy Saturday and stay warm!
